Monoclonal Anti-LPP (mouse IgG2a isotype) is derived from the hybridoma LPP4 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide. Lipoma-preferred partner (LPP) gene encodes for the LPP protein, prominently expressed in smooth muscle. This protein contains a proline-rich N-terminal region and three C-terminally located LIN-11, Isl-1, and MEC-3 (LIM) domains. LPP protein is a member of the zyxin family. LPP is localized at sites of cell adhesion such as focal adhesions and cell-cell contacts. The LPP gene is mapped on the human chromosome at 3q27.3-q28.

Biochem/physiol Actions
Lipoma-preferred partner (LPP) protein shuttles between cell adhesion sites and the nucleus where it has transcriptional activation capacity. LPP interacts with α-actin and VASP at cell adhesions via its N-terminal. It also interacts with tumor suppressor protein scrib at cell-cell contacts. The LPP gene is being rearranged in a subgroup of lipomas, which are benign tumors of adipose tissue. The LPP gene acts as a translocation partner in acute monoblastic leukemia.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
Storage and Stability
Store at –20 °C. For continuous use, the product may be stored at 2–8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze at –20 °C in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing, or storage in “frost-free” freezers, is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
